The operation itself is performed by the\n     transplant surgeons.<\/p>\n\n  <p>His particular interest is the patients other centres turn away: those with no matching\n     donor, with blood group incompatibility, with hepatitis B or C, or who have already lost\n     one transplant.<\/p>\n\n  <div class=\"box\">\n    <span class=\"etiket\">Work of the team he leads<\/span>\n    <ul>\n      <li>The <b>first seven-way domino paired exchange<\/b> performed outside the Americas.<\/li>\n      <li>The <b>first ABO-incompatible kidney transplants in T\u00fcrkiye<\/b> \u2014 five cases, published\n          in 2007.<\/li>\n      <li>Among the first studies worldwide of transplantation from <b>HBsAg-positive living\n          donors<\/b>.<\/li>\n    <\/ul>\n    <p><i>\"Organ transplantation is teamwork.\"<\/i> \u2014 these results belong to the whole team.<\/p>\n  <\/div>\n\n  <h2>His own donor study<\/h2>\n\n  <p>One question every family asks is what happens to the donor afterwards. Rather than quote\n     other centres, Prof. Tuncer followed up <b>135 of his own living kidney donors<\/b> and\n     published what happened to them.
